Well I am back in Billings Montana for a few months before I head back East for the summer and the beach. My grandson and I were out getting one of our canine transportation vans the logo and name installed on the van.
After awhile I noticed a sign, “Chau Kitchen”, I asked the gal who designed the logos and graphics “were there any good Chinese places in the area?” She looked at me strange and said there is one right there pointing at “Chau Kitchen”. Well that seemed to be a good sign, literally so the two of us headed over and at first I was going to order just two Egg Rolls, $8.50 ( this is Montana nothing is cheap and anything Chinese or Thai has to be a suckers paradise for these Asians who run them).

So out comes the two egg rolls and they are delicious, $$$$ but darn good. My grandson looks at me and I look at him and decided to try the Three Seafood Delight for $20.95. Well this dish comes out and it is really well done and it comes with rice. Now the place is more for take out than it is for dining in. There are some tables inside but it is as plain as plain can get -two or three tables and NOT FANCY. But who cares, we may have found some decent Chinese food in the middle of Billings, Montana….. one of the most miserable places on earth to find good eats!
The lady who was at the counter as you enter was looking at us as if “what the hell are we doing?” As we are ordering and eating more food and enjoying every minute of it. After awhile we speak and she tells us that for over 20 years she had a restaurant just down the street from where we sit. All of a sudden it hit me, this little lady is a pro and how lucky we are to have found this place. Please take ‘AMERICA’S FOOD CRITIC’s’ advice and try this place…. remember, I am the expert and this is some great eats. Go there and tell her that you read this review and be sure to try the egg rolls!
