John J Nazarian Discusses the Shooting Death of Lawrence “Larry” King and Guests from Justin’s Gift

After a week off, Celebrity PI, John J. Nazarian is back with daily shows Mon. – Fri for thirty minutes at 7 PM PST – 10 PM EST, and the show airs live and John welcomes you all to call in with questions at 818-572-8030; long distance charges will apply.

Nazarian begins tonight’s show with his thoughts of the shooting death of gay teen Lawrence “Larry” King at school by another teen, Brandon McInerney. The jury dead locked on a trial in October, and in November McIneney did a plea deal that gives McInerney 21 years in jail for the murder of King; McInerney will be out of jail at the age of 39. This shooting death affecting John Nazarian to the point he has a picture of King on his desk.

Then Nazarian will turn to a more positive hope for LGBTQ teens with previous guests Jefferson Fietek and Tammy Aaberg of Justin’s Gift.

Tammy and Jefferson will be talking about their organization, the Thanksgiving dinner with fun and food for LGBTQ teens and sponsored in part by First Congregational Anoka UCC Church held this past week on November 25.

Justin’s Gift Justin’s Gift provides empowering programming for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, questioning youth and their ally friends. The services are primarily for youth in the general vicinity of Anoka, Andover, Blaine, Champlin, Coon Rapids, and Ramsey but youth from any community are welcome!

Tammy Aaberg took her grief over the suicide of her gifted son and turned it into something positive for other teens in the LGBTQ community so they are not alone and have a safe place to spend some special time with adults who understand. Jefferson Fietek is a teacher in a middle school in Minnesota who has worked alone and with others for changes in the schools of Minnesota and has also joined with Tammy Aaberg and others to make Justin’s Gift a continuing success.

Tammy and Jefferson will discuss other events plans for the holidays but will also talk about the potential situations that at risk teens face during what can become a very lonely holiday season for them.

1. Provide teen focused programming such as; study skills, health education, job skills, tutoring, social issues and arts programming.
2. Connect youth with mental health resources if needed.
3. Provide mediation to youth and their parents.
4. Provide resources and support for teens who may be experiencing bullying at their school.
5. Partner with schools and other organizations to provide educators with the tools to create schools that are GLBTQ inclusive.
6. Annually presents Anoka GLBTQ Youth Pride.
