Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon, R-Santa Clarita, is hot on the issue of what Judge Gloria Maynard in Puerto Rico did when she basically set a MURDER suspect free. I just got off the phone to Congressman MccKeons Washington office and I will be discussing further concerns with Congressman McKeon in the next several days.
The Congressman has written a letter to Attorney General Eric Holder and he wants answers. Well folks, now we have one accused killer in custody and one on the run and other suspects “orbiting.” In the last several weeks since the “assisted” release on $50,000 bail (don’t forget that comes down to about $5,000 out of pocket with a bail bond), lots of elected officials are outraged as any intelligent person would be at the release of Zareh Manjikian, the accused shooter. It does not get any more serious than this, we now have a U.S. Congressman asking the questions we all are asking, “How did this happen?” and most importantly, “what is the government of Puerto Rico going to do about it?” Thank you Congressman Howard “Buck” McKeon!
Here at the local level Paul Krekorian, L.A. Councilman has been also vocal about the renegade jurist, Gloria Maynard, in Puerto Rico. “There can be no rational explanation for this bizarre decision by Judge Maynard that would be consistent with the faithful performance of her duties as a judge.” Well put Mr. Krekorian, however polite and patient as the statement is. On behalf of the Yepremyan family and my office we thank all of the elected officials for their comments.
A very special thanks to C.J. Lin, a reporter with the Daily News here in Los Angeles for a great story on the most recent events in the murder of Mike Yepremyan.
