Having had my full of a day in court, I head over to Beverly Hills for a little lunch. Caffe Roma is one of my favorites for a nice light lunch. I am meeting my friend Bobby, and who do I see as I walk in? None other than former Governor Schwarzenegger with a group of people talking about “all is going well” and “it just needs a rewrite…a new movie?
Well I sit down at my usual table towards the back (I love this table, it is like watching live television). The place is always packed with old time actors, and some new ones too! Well today was no exception, Dennis Farina, sure the lovable tough guy actor and former Chicago cop. Always nice to see an X-cop making good, this guy has been one of my favorites for years. Dennis is from Chicago and of Italian descent, eating at an Italian eatery in Beverly Hills, nice!
Out of the corner of my eye I see another regular, Andrew Dice Clay, born Andrew Clay Silverstein, he could have been a deli owner with that name. Born in Brooklyn, New York and a very entertaining guy and he was here. I am always amazed a little bit by who accompanies these people, I mean stars, Dice had an old guy with thinning hair that he kept playing with to try and move around to cover empty spots.
Well it was just another day at Caffe Romas and I had the caesar salad and a small bowl of gnocchi with extra sauce. The food here is almost always good, I like the portions and the guys here treat me nice. If you are ever in the area stop by. For some odd reason there are always a few tv or movie stars stagnating-I mean hanging around.
