No one likes the system at the airports much anymore, and for me I agree that many who get hired by the TSA are not the brightest candles on the cake. TSA guards look to be desperate hires and I do not feel comfortable with them at all. Something else I notice is that individuals who appear to be “stupidvisors” that watch and manage these people…what I am trying to say is that someone knows these are not the brightest of the work force and to handle that they hire and train “bright ones” to watch over their minions.

Well now for the positive part, they do serve a purpose, I guess if they catch just one wannabe terrorist I am happy with the violation of my privacy. And depending on my mood, I have to be honest — getting touched and violated can be fun sometimes. I also noticed something in Chicago, the TSA agents seemed well-spoken, polite and professional in attitude and behavior. New York, Los Angeles — it sometimes seems a little like getting dressed out at San Quentin, just before being assigned a cell.

Khloe Kardashian, it was reported, hates flying (do they make her buy two seats?) and does not like the pat-down check. Perhaps if it was a big basketball player dressed as a TSA agent it might make her more at ease. I also agree with the comment it is reported that Khloe made as to the “aggressive” nature of some of these frustrated, unqualified-for-any-real-police-jobs TSA agents. At one point Khloe Kardashian stated that an agent said, “I’m going to be touching the crease of your ass,” well! That TSA agent had better be careful he or she does not get sucked into that cloth-covered cavern (curious, what if you are a little gassy and one of these TSA nitwits are checking your ass crack and you let one rip…is that an assault?). TMZ had a photo of Kim Kardashian getting the wand, the one that is scanned over her body, she actually looked ok with it, very nice sunglasses.

Khloe, can we make a suggestion, JOSE EBER, he is located in Beverly Hills and could do miracles with that mop on the top of your head. What is it with Khloe Kardashian and that hair, she always looks like she just stepped out of a shower at the YMCA. And being the BIG one of the group you would think that Khloe would take a little better care of that mess on top of her melon!

Within weeks of the Ronni Chasen murder this story came across my desk from a very reliable source. One might wonder if Ronni had the ability to protect herself, would she still be with us? We will never know.

There was an incident in West Hollywood involving a man driving his Jaguar – while stopped in traffic a man jumped into the passenger seat of his car. The suspect was holding a gun, demanding the driver unlock the two rear doors so his friends could get in.

The victim of this crime, instead of cooperating and facing only god knows what, accelerated through the intersection. While driving erratically he told the guy with the gun to get out. He slowed his car to about 20 mph and told him to jump out or he was going straight to the Sheriff’s station. The guy with the gun did jump from the Jaguar and the victim went to the Sheriff’s station to report the attempted car jacking. He was told by Sheriff’s staff that this was not the first time an attempted robbery/car jacking of this type had occurred.

I can clearly remember driving down Highland Avenue in Hollywood during the very early 70’s, I was driving a brand new white Pontiac Trans Am. I had the T-tops in place and the passenger side window down. I had slowed down a bit when a guy jumped through the window and attempted to grab the wheel. Back in those days car jacking was unheard of and an act such as this was way out of what to expect, even in Hollywood. I was in my 20’s and was in the best shape of my life…the first fist to strike the middle of this guys face was a hint that he had made a mistake. I was moving rather fast as I was hoping to find a cop…”never one around when you need one.” My second act of defense caused this goofy SOB to eject himself from my open window just before Santa Monica Boulevard…it was like a movie as he rolled along side my car.

I went to the old Hollywood Division of the L.A.P.D. to at least make a report about being “attacked.” At the time I had been a student worker with S.O. There had been no calls for fire or paramedics in the area that this shitbird was last seen impersonating a “wheel in motion”… that was it, case closed. The rest of the facts of this incident will just remain in my memory, the good ol’ days!

My thoughts are this, what was once an oddity in our society has now become more mainstream. People being assaulted as they sit at the wheels of their cars. Bad guys are not intimidated by the cops, and when citizens can’t be allowed to protect themselves with the issuance of CCW (carry conceal weapons), this behavior will continue. At times we are at the mercy of low life criminals. With cutbacks and the firing of police in our cities, if ever there was a time to re-visit this right of self defense, it is now. Many states have these rights for the citizens and the bad guys know it, and there have never been blatant shoot outs between law abiding citizens in any of these states. California needs to wake up!

As time moves on people begin to remember things, “Oh she told me she was worried” about this or that. Well if Ronni Chasen previously had any concerns for her safety and did not contact the police then as I said above, that could very well have been a fatal mistake. Over the years I had spoken to Ms. Chasen at least three times about subject matter that will remain private. She came across each time as no nonsense and “just the facts.” Dealing with her was a no brainer, it was her way or the highway, and at the same time she seemed to respect someone with more knowledge than she might have on the subject, me on these occasions.

As I have told hundreds of people through the years, if you think you are being followed, make three right turns, and if the car or motorcycle is still with you, you are being followed, simple. If in the course of being followed and you are lucky enough to catch the eye of a police officer, flag them down and begin pointing and screaming towards the person who is following you. Get on the cell phone and call the police department, I mean have the local number of the police and not the generic 911 on a cell phone. Cell phone 911 works fine, it is just time consuming going through the CHP and all the rest of related people, have your local police station number on speed dial. And meanwhile, drive to the nearest police station, not home!

In this case, the evidence and crime scene do not make sense. The five shots are of interest to me as that would indicate a 5 shot revolver…efficient and a revolver does not throw spent cartridges as would a semi-automatic. Ronni must have had shear terror on her mind in her last moments which makes this all the sadder, no one should have to die like that. There has been some wild speculation that Ronni may have accidentally stumbled onto a money laundering or stolen art syndicate. Whatever it is that she got dragged into, I have not a question in my mind that the Beverly Hills Police Department will have all the loose ends tied nice and tight in the end. The citizens of Beverly Hills, who have made a lot of money and paid a lot of money to live in luxury and security, will demand it.

I also mentioned that whoever did this to Ronni I do not believe broke a sweat. When I think of what happened, it must have been like shooting fish in a barrel, Ms. Chasen could not have put up much of a fight. God forbid you ever find yourself facing a shooter, but try to have the presence of mind that you are driving a deadly weapon and use it to save yourself if you can…don’t be a sitting duck.

Once again for whatever reason we are getting called in to verify what some idiot with a P.I. license did, and that is a “sweep.” This is when someone thinks that their home or auto has been tampered with and there is a tracking device or some device in place to listen to conversations. I will give an excellent example later as to why this very popular “Dog and Pony” show is for the most part ridiculous and should be avoided.

First, the nitwit P.I. or Security Expert shows up with a fancy case, holding “the equipment,” and as he unpacks this garbage at some point you may see lights flashing and electronic noises…forget about it. Nazarian and Associates has been looking for and finding planted recorders and tracking devices for years. And if it is there we will more likely find it and it will not be with any of these silly adult toys! We do it the old fashion way, step by step and little by little we search and look, and above all we use common sense. For sure it is not cheap and solving tough problems should not be cheap…this is a serious issue and takes time and the right people to look for it…assuming it exists.

Remember this, if, and I say if, if your home has been “wired” and done right, you will never find it. One great example is this, taken from the Pellicano trial:

“Mr. Nagler, concerned that Mr. Pellicano might have wiretapped Sly, had all the phones in the Stallone house swept. But as all good Pellicano watchers know by now, Mr. Pellicano didn’t wiretap phones in the house. (Just ask Gavin DeBeker who had Gary Shandling’s house swept.) The sweeping didn’t turn up anything because the wiretap–if there was one–was in the phone box where nobody bothered to sweep.” This is an extreme case and there was no one better than Anthony Pellicano, and he is tied up for several years in Federal Custody. And it is also my opinion that there is no one doing this with the panache that Anthony and his crew could, if you define panache as having crooked insiders with the police and phone company, in addition to technical wizardry. Once again, there was the sweeper dog and pony show and everyone went to bed thinking, “good, this is all behind us” when in fact it was not.

Nazarian and Associates has never had a client compromised by any electronic shenanigans once we were informed that a potential problem was possible, never, not once. Why you ask, simple, we take steps that make it almost impossible for anyone to get your calls, emails, and for that matter anything else. Am I going to tell you how we do that, no, of course not, that is after all how I keep my Bentley and Rolls filled with gas.

The bottom line is this, be aware of your home and who is coming and going. If you are wealthy and your soon to be X-husband has the financial resources to mess with you, keep that in mind too. So when the guy in the nice sports coat and slacks comes into your home and says that he is the “plumber,” laugh at him and call the police, that is not the “plumber” you had in mind!

Through all my years in the investigative and security field I have extended my hand only a few times in helping an individual hit the road running in the private field. Mike Spencer, former investigative reporter, was one and of course I taught Bobby Jakucs Col. USMC ret. everything he knows about “making a buck” in this racket! Both of these brilliant minds remain people that I depend on when I am in the need for good solid advice.

Now here comes someone that I have the utmost respect for and from the very beginning when he and I met we hit it off. To become a member of such an elite group is one big achievement, there are only 2300 agents for the entire world. Let me put it to you this way, have you ever met or even spoken to a member of The United States Secret Service? Mr. Ventola is graduate of the University of Rhode Island and holds a degree in Sociology that will come in handy in dealing with me…only thing more helpful would be a doctorate in psychology. James and I share a love for good Italian food and are still on hold on the pizza angle, East v West.

Breaking News…If you are a private person or a security person or private investigator or for that matter a criminal, have no fear about placing a tracking device on a private vehicle! This is great news for all the sleuths who thought it was illegal, well, kinda sorta, in the “old” Los Angeles. But today, track away!!!

Brief details: a few weeks ago a very nice couple while lowering the tailgate on their Range Rover noticed that the bottom half would not work, it got stuck. Upon looking further a little black box was found, about half the size of a cigarette pack….what??? Upon looking a little further it was discovered to be a GPS Tracking Device from Lightning secured in this little black box. It was about to get a little more strange, this couple had nothing to do with any craziness other than one issue. That issue was a friend, who was going through a very nasty divorce. This friend had to surrender her leased car in a few weeks and to keep the mileage down. So this nice couple told her that she could use their Range Rover for a few weeks. Yes sireeeee, their car and registered to just the two of them. Well it was during the period that the “friend” had their car that this STALKING device had been secretly and without permission stuck under their Range Rover, who might do such a thing? Some “crazy,” a stalker, the government or a soon to be former husband who is having problems with the inevitable, as in “see ya sweetie”??

The desire to know is ever present in our society and that is exactly why laws were enacted to protect people from unauthorized snooping. Thank god that we the public are protected against this stuff being done to us, we are “protected”…NOT! Read on.

Well the Los Angeles Police were called and it was explained to the operator what we had found. The dispatcher on the other end told us to take the tracking device to the North Hollywood Police Department and make the report, serious stuff, right? NOT! We go down to the police station and are greeted by Officer McClaren, a nicer young officer you will not find in the City of Angels. He upon hearing the story tells us that he does not believe it to be a crime. I wait a few moments and tell him that it is a crime. Several minutes later he tells me, “ you are right,” well, I smile my friendliest smile and tell him “I know.” The good officer takes down all the important information. This is when it gets good, he now takes it back to the detective on duty. I am now praying that the detective understands how serious this is. After a few minutes, a very nice detective by the name of Torres comes out and tells us that “this is a crime” and that they will take the device into evidence and at some point a search warrant will be issued. “Good,” we say and walk away waiting for justice. As everyone knows you cannot just put tracking devices on cars, especially if you are not the registered owner, and plus what would the world be coming to if this could be done by anyone with no penalties, RIGHT? Wrong!

Well, this case fell into the hands of Detective Burns of the North Hollywood Detective Division of the Los Angeles Police Department. Things will move along now, right? WRONG! And you could perhaps tell that the suspense that had us on the edge of the seat wanting to find who did this was not shared with Detective Burns. It was reported to us that he told one of the parties that he had “better things to do” and far more serious crimes to investigate than this one. And that he would do his “report” and bring it to the City Attorney’s Office of Carmen A. Trutanich for their review and potential prosecution, and get back to us. ( Note: As a cop you can write a report to set someone free or send them to the gas chamber….can you guess what is going to happen here folks? ) Well were notified Thursday, May 13, 2010 that the City Attorney won’t file on the case and that we can feel free to come and pick up the “evidence.” And the good detective is moving on to better things! Yes Sireeeee, welcome to the modern LAPD.

One huge reason the police don’t know what to do with this TECHNO STALKING is that the devices are seldom found. And there are thousands in service throughout the world without the knowledge of the driver. I have only been contacted three times by people who have found GPS tracking on their cars themselves…sometimes, not often, the people who place tracking systems on cars screw up, such as in this case. But we have removed hundreds of them from cars over the years when asked to check and locate GPS systems, often put on by one suspicious spouse to track the other…it is fun? Right? Sure, you can tell where the vehicle and driver is going and where he or she has been. Now I always thought that this was a HUGE issue and we had to be careful not to violate the law….NOT IN LOS ANGELES folks, it is just not serious enough of a crime to take serious.

This car was not registered to either party involved in the divorce, and the people who pulled off this crime got away with it. With the attitude of the LAPD and the City Attorney not wanting to get involved,what message is being sent? My thoughts are of all the STALKERS, WIFE BEATERS, AND FOR PEOPLE WHO WOULD DO HARM IN GENERAL? This day could be considered a holiday for all of those who like tracking and stalking victims and targets. The doors that these people are opening for people to track others is off the chart. What better way to keep track of someone you might want to murder or molest?

And to all of you security people, private investigators and criminals, don’t even worry your little mind, go ahead, nothing will happen. Just be sure to stay within the city limits of Los Angeles and you won’t have a thing to be concerned with. And even better if you do this in the area of the North Hollywood Divison of the Los Angeles Police Department…”what is the big deal?”

The latest potential train wrecks, Da Kardashians — Kim and her BIG sister Kourtney — were exiting a car when some poor photographer got very close, it is being reported. And Kim and BIG sis Kourtney’s security thugs took care of business. What does that mean? Just because the guy has a camera does not make him a “threat,“ as a matter of fact is it not these very same people who made these nobodies somebodies?

The members of our security details are off-duty police and sheriff deputies and above all gentlemen. You can still have “security” and not get sued or arrested, it is called having trained people in place and COMMON SENSE. During the Phil Spectre circus we saw his “security“ team and being that he was so rich it would appear that he had paid by the pound for the two cows in very large suits that accompanied him and his wife to and from the court. Hot day? folks can you imagine the odor factor and having these two grunts with you?? Hello! For Nazarian and Associates, we don’t hire people by how many pounds they weigh but for what they have between their ears: brains. It would also appear that hiring current or former street thugs is also not good for any potential jury verdict…sweeties you will have to pay. Also, insurance the last time I checked does not pay off on criminal acts. And assaulting and beating someone is a criminal act.

And how about this, you don’t want the attention, don’t leak your schedule to the paparazzi and chances are they won’t be there. Ahhhh, that would be too disappointing, no one to take your picture and document how surprised you look. OH NO, but then TMZ would not have you to make comments about on there site. There are dozens of ways to keep from being confronted by the photogs. A perfect example is when Adam Braun and I accompanied a client to be booked for the Anna Nicole debacle…there was no photo of her entering the police station, and no photo of her leaving. Also keep in mind that I planned the entire event and the best part NO MUG SHOT! We don’t want to be sued and we don’t want to attack the very people who make us famous, THE PAPARAZZI, these men and women provide a service. For sure there are times when you wish they were not parked in front of your house or apartment. How about this, send for coffee and sandwiches for them while they are camped out and maybe they will give you a break. We use other less pleasant tactics but they are harmless…who can predict a broken hose or sprinklers going off by accident?

When a real threat is in place, get out of the area quickly and use the appropriate force to do that. Having trained professionals will do the trick and you don’t get that for 50 bucks an hour. But if you hire meat to beat people and smack them around and break their cameras, you’ll PAY FOR IT in bail, lawyers and settlements.
