Although we share an “uncommon” last name, as far as I know, I am not closely related to Judge Pellman. However, if I have my facts straight, she had a career of representing children before she was appointed to the bench. It appears she is still putting children first, which is exactly what should happen in family court. Good for her! Thanks for the interesting story. -Ken

Great to see a Judicial Officer actually put an Attorney on the line for her client’s unethical conduct. Putting the child first?!?! What an intriguing concept for LA Courts. The OC on one Family Law case is just about to end her 30-Day Suspension from the Bar for unethical conduct – yet she’ll be back in rare form after 9/1/2009, ready to screw with the child’s best interests again, and representing a father (using that term very loosely here) who hasn’t bothered to pay child support for 8 months (the child is 29 months old!).

Glad to see there is truly a Judge in LA who “Gets It”!!!!

My x gave Judge Pellman a 170.6 DQ and I quickly knew she must be sane and honest.

I have been in front of Judge Amy Pellman 2 times now, the last time about a month ago, and she was amazing. She saw through my exhusband’s lies and manipulation of her orders and put both him and his lawyer in their places. My counsel and I were both shocked when she started in on both of them about violating her orders. It was a true blessing.

I have been battling the ex for a few years as he bends the court orders to fit his needs and I have constantly felt that no one got it. Judge Amy Pellman got it.

I have been in front of Pellman twice and I find her VERY unfair. I chalked the first round as she must have been having a “bad day” since a handful of attorneys, including my own, said our case was a slam dunk. She not only looked dazed and confused through the entire case – she didnt look at any of the paperwork in front of her that CLEARLY showed my original settlement agreement should have stayed in tact.
My ex makes over 300K, and I make 40k. He has seen his 5 year old child 4 times, and has no interest. We appealed, and she still didnt want to hear our case – she just said “good luck to you in the next court”. So – I get to pay another $20K to appeal her ridiculous decision.

I too have appeared before Ms. Pellman. Under the guise of protecting children, she has a clear agenda. She is a strong feminist and a man hater. She has been reported to the supervising judge, presiding judge, Council on Judicial Performance, and the Governor’s office. Maybe one day we will get some quality on the bench…

Greetings Amy:

We knew you back when – you did your preperation for the California Bar exam in our Condo apartment in Arcadia. We’re still alive (just hanging in there) and would love to hear from you -when you have time.

All the best to you always.

George & Ron

I have found her to be a fair judge.

I cannot say how wonderful this woman is. She was the one I admired growing up and I am dumb struck that anyone would say a negative comment about her. She is who we should want to be. Amy, you are great, awesome and pure! Thank you for your hard work, dedication and kind heart. As an adult now, I get comfort knowing there are individuals like you with authority. Thank you, thank you and thank you.
