Commissioner Scott M. GordonToday I visited one of my favorite Commissioner/”Judges” and that is Scott Gordon in Dept. 88, his court room was packed, standing room only! How is it always like this? His bailiff is firm and so very polite, people were standing outside and being called in, it was like IKEA for family law decisions. This guy was meant for this job, whoever made him a Commish did Los Angeles a HUGE FAVOR! He is fast and very sharp, he is beyond fair and also knows he has the power to “filet,” and in knowing that he is also trying to make the pain stop for so many who are experiencing the horrible reality that their marriage is over. For those of you lucky enough to be assigned to his court, he will do what is right by those who need it!

How do you get re assigned to this commish in Dept 88 if you have another…”grumpy one” who keeps letting the ex get over?

Oh SOOOO Funny, this is a problem we see at times and the remedy is not always easy. It is true that sometimes I even wonder if the Judges are paying any attention and again I do believe that having a lawyer that has the courts respect is very important! It is also helps if the Judge or Commish and your lawyer have a ‘good’ history.
You have ten days to throw a fit upon notification letting you know who the judge will be on your case! After that, Girlfriend you will have to enjoy the ride unless some terrible health issue causes your judge to retire! On a ‘commissioner’ you can change as long as he or she has not made a ruling on your DIVORCE already. Till then, I guess all you can do is find out what grumpy’s favorite color is and wear it, with a smile I guess!
